At the moment, all quality mid-range devices have some simple features: good design , decent battery, cameras suitable for social media and speed that allows you to play. And Oppo Reno 4 Lite ticks all these things.
Oppo Reno 4 Lite: Design
Oppo Reno 4 Lite has a traditional design for this mid-range area. It’s a slim phone , 7.48 millimeters and only 164 grams, one of the lightest in its class. Although I appreciated the fact that it is avery light phone , I am not among those who consider that the light weight is an advantage, because I like to feel a phone in my hand.
The front edges of the screen are small, and the hollow of the front camera is in the upper left, where we have the two front cameras we are already used to. The edges are chrome and have physical volume and power buttons. At the bottom we have the USB-C plug and the headphone plug.
It has a beautiful but conservative design and does not try to somehow reinvent the mid-range area, but this is very good. We are talking about a general market. For those who want a more spectacular color than black, there is the Magic Blue version, which brings shades of blue and color iridescence and interpenetration of tones.
So, the design is a simple one, which does not stand out in a negative way, nor will it receive any special award. However, I liked the fact that it is on the border between funky and serious, because it can be for young people and for serious people.
Oppo Reno 4 Lite: Technical characteristics
The phone has a generous 6.43-inch screen, because its edges are small. The AMOLED screen has a resolution of 2400 by 1080 pixels and Gorilla Glass 3. The pixel density is better than other devices in this class, at 409 pixels per inch, which leads to better image quality.
The screen has saturated colors, but not to the extreme, it feels good to the touch and is responsive. The brightness is good even in the sun.
Inside, the Oppo Reno 4 Lite comes with an interesting choice, a Mediatek Helio P95 processor. I haven’t tested a Mediatek processor phone in a long time. It’s a processor that you will only see on Oppo devices at the moment. For example, it was on the Oppo Reno 3 Pro 4G last year, now coming down to the mid-range area.
The storage capacity is 128 GB, 8 GB of RAM and you have a microSD card slot that can take the place of a card in the dual SIM slots. Again, I appreciated the generous storage capacity that becomes a standard on these phones and the fact that already at 8 GB of RAM almost all mid-ranges can lead to important tasks.
The 4,000 milliampere battery has an autonomy in normal use of a day and a half, which was more than enough. But Oppo came with this charging technology on this mid-range as well. At a time when some manufacturers are giving up chargers, I appreciate manufacturers launching fast charging in minutes, because it fits better with my usage.
Oppo Reno 4 Lite: Camera
On the back we have 4 main rooms. The most important has 48 megapixels and f / 1.7 and we also have a wide 8 megapixel camera and two 2 megapixel cameras. The dual front camera has 16 megapixels and 2 megapixels, respectively.
Overall, we are talking about very solid cameras that we have seen on other Oppo devices, which are also helped by artificial intelligence. We have already seen these features on the Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G and the Oppo Reno 4 Pro 5G, and the manufacturer brings them to the mid-range area. They help you create better images for social media.
The images were bright, the only downside I would see, but it depends on personal preferences, is that in the end the colors of the photos are cooler than I would like.
You have functions such as night portraits with AI for selfies at night, Ai Color, so that you are colorful, and the surroundings are black and white, double bokeh for selfies when you are with a friend and beauty functions.
Oppo also brought the image stabilization function to this video on the phone, which can have very good results. You can shoot with bokeh video, slow motion and 4K.
I said at the beginning. Oppo Reno 4 Lite is a phone that allows you to take Instagram photos at a reasonable cost, to post them on social media, and for filming you also have stabilization. And if we mentioned the price, let’s see how it compares to other devices on the market.
Overall, the value for money is very good for the Reno 4 Lite, coming at a very good price for what it offers, ie storage, good cameras, 8 GB of RAM. The only downside we could call the lack of 5G, but for now, for the next 2-3 years, this would not be a problem in the mid-range area.
So, we are talking about a best buy in terms of quality / price ratio, the rest of the things being some of personal preference. With equal features, Oppo brings a better price, the only differences being made by the design.
- Very good price
