Samsung has unveiled the first new generation smart home TV based on the MicroLED panel. It consists of microscopic LEDs only a few microns in size. Thanks to this solution, the screen does not require color filters and additional backlighting, while the color reproduction is provided at the highest level.
The screen has a size 110 inchdiagonally and a 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. There is support for high dynamic range HDR. The coverage of the DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB color spaces is declared at 100%. In fact, the TV came out completely frameless – its screen occupies 99.99% of the front surface area. The lifespan of the MicroLED panel reaches 100,000 hours.
On the international market, the new Samsung will appear in the first quarter of next year. The price of a unique TV has not yet been announced, but there is no doubt that it will be very high.
